It's been a very topical year so far 2011/12. We started off in first term with a reminder of the tragedy of twin towers on the 10 yr anniversary, the second term, we thought about it being 100 yrs since Captain Scott's expedition that claimed his life, then we thought about the 100 yr anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic in the third term and finally ending the session in anticipation of the Olympics with the inspiration from Eric Lidell (check one of my previous blogs) and the torch celebration.
Of course, that was all linked with messages from the Bible and the relevance of the message of God for today. My hope is that as many of these young people think about the over-riding Christian message, that there will be those who will consider Christianity and perhaps it might cause some to put aside their pre-conceptions of what it is all about and think about Christian things from a more informed standpoint.
It is a message of hope, it is a message of love - and it is a message that can still change lives today. It doesn't seem to be particularly popular today - in fact I'm not sure it's ever been.
But I present it because I believe it is Gods message for us today...I recommend it to you...
Here's a verse from the Bible that sums the message up...
"John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
That's Gods message of love..for you !
Oh by the way, did anyone watch the Wimbledon final - we hoped Murray would win, but just wasn't to be - our hopes were dashed - and in a world that does disappoint what can we hope in? Here's my thoughts on hope...
Thanks for stopping by!
